Brownie Cheesecake

Face it...quilters are darn good cooks! Do you have a favorite recipie that you'd like to share? Here's the place to do that.

Brownie Cheesecake

This is from January 10, 1942 Searcy Arkansas Daily Citizen.

Bread and Butter Custard

3 tablespoons butter
4 cups white bread cut into 1/2 inch cubes(bread may be
several days old) but preferably not very dry)
3/4 cup seedless raisins
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 quart hot milk

Melt butter and pour over bread cubes.
Stir to mix butter evenly with cubes.
Place two thirds of bread in casserole or backing dish.
Sprinkle raisins evenly over mixture and cover with
rest of bread cubes. Beat eggs and sugar, salt; graduley
stir hot milk unto egg mixture, pour over bread; Let stand
15 minutes, set casserole in pan of water and bake in
moderate oven (350) for 45 minutes to one hour or until
knife inserted into custard comes out clean.
Yields: 8 servings

Must be nobody has been looking at the recipes. This sounds good, but I'm not sure how much cream cheese it takes :roll:
